Solved [TOMT] [Music] 90s pop song/female singer/ all I remember is the intro lyrics sound like a chicken - Vocaroo included in post

I first heard this song in 1998 and all I remember is the first few seconds: it sounds like a group of women squawking like chickens (onomatopoeically "bock bock") melodically and then they sing, "woooooohhhooooohoo hoooo".

Then I remember the female lead starts singing and it has a very 90s vibe to it (think Spice Girls "say you'll be there").

It’s driving me mad and I’m convinced this song doesn’t exist. I included a Vocaroo link here: https://voca.ro/1i1fAZd1Cmg8

That's all I got, hoping you good folks can help me!

Open [TOMT] A kids sex ed book about a king molesting a kid and then getting arrested.

When i was 7/8ish my elementary school brought a sex ed teacher to talk to the class about saying no to getting “touched inappropriately”. One day they came in and brought a book about a young boy going to see the king of his village. When he got to the king, the king molested him and told him to keep it a secret. Then the boy told his parents, and then the king got exiled from the kingdom. This would’ve happened around 2018/2017 but the book could have been made earlier than that. I tried googling it, and didn’t find anything. I don’t remember the title I just remember the premise.

Open [TOMT][SONG][1940s?] Big band jazz instrumental tune with people occasionally shouting "BOOGIE!"

Upvotes

I heard this on the radio in the mid-1990s, but I'm guessing it was a much older recording. It sounded like a Count-Basie-style 1940s big band jazz tune. It was instrumental, no lyrics, except every eight bars or so the whole band (or a group of people) would all shout "BOOGIE!" Some of the shouts might have been "JUMP, BOOGIE!" but I might not be remembering that right.

Thanks for your help. BOOGIE!

Solved [TOMT][Movie] Movie about gay couple who went on some boat trip

Upvotes

The blonde guy got a job on some boat or something. It was some boring science thing I think. And his boyfriend, the brunette, went along with him. They were somewhere cold, like Alaska or Canada or something. I think the brunette was really bored there and didn't enjoy it, and once he stayed at some city while the blonde guy was still at his cruise thingy. There he met a woman, and fell in love with her. She was friend/sister of the blonde guy, and he had asked her to keep an eye on his bf. Because he was worried/jealous maybe. I don't remember how the movie ended.

Does anyone recognise this? It wasn't that great, but I'm annoyed I can't find it or remember its name.. pls help

Open [TOMT] [kids book] Children’s book series- set in Britain, 19th century(ish), main character Poppy

I vividly remember a series of 4 (I am pretty sure) books I read in primary school. The main character is a teenage girl named Poppy from a family living in poverty in Britain during the 19th century (or thereabouts). She is the oldest and has several younger siblings (all the girls have flower names) and the younger siblings end up being sent to a workhouse in one of the books while Poppy works as a servant. The underlying plot is to do with hidden treasure from her family which is found at a church(???) in the final book near statues of three women named Faith, Hope and Charity. There are multiple clues they find to the location throughout the books which form a poem. I remember the final line “when Hope waits bowed down with sorrow seek within a bright tomorrow”. More random details: •she rescues her brother from the workhouse and takes him treasure hunting with her in the 3rd or 4th book •she becomes a servant for a very spoiled girl around her age in the second book •she is a red-head •she has twin younger sisters •she talks a lot about eating “bread and lard”

From what I recall, it is a younger-reader chapter book (I think I read it around 8-9)

If anyone knows the name of series and/or author I would be so appreciative. I am feeling nostalgic and cannot get it off my mind

Open. [TOMT] Please help me find this song?

Upvotes

Can someone please help me find this song?

Can someone pls help me find this song?

It's a relatively new song, perhaps released in the past 10 years.

Her name is Hispanic but the song is originally in English. She also did a Spanish version of this song.

I'm not looking for Olivia Rodrigo.

The video of this song is her, practically wearing a white satin nightgown, singing with her band in the background. She is a brunette. Her voice is very tender and smooth. The genre would be pop, but this video is like an acoustic version of the song, very smooth, slow and sensual.

The song is a story about a toxic relationship and how her partner made her feel, mostly all the bad things she felt.

Solved [TOMT] kid show/movie from the [80s-2000s]

Upvotes

I remember watching this show/movie in the early 2000s but it def could have been older, it was styled kind of like Thomas the Tank Engine where it was physical toys being moved around and then voices to cover it. after searching I know it isn’t the Animal Shelf and it isn’t Secret life of toys. but the show was a bunch of little stuffed animals, in a very plush grandma/cutesy style room and it was a british man doing the voice over. they would have small day to day issues and solve them, there was never any people in the room.

Open [TOMT][MOVIE][1990s] An movie starred by an asian swords woman with a male nemesis

Upvotes

Woman was a great swords master. She is most probably japanese. And there's a villain, a bad man. He's a master too and I think in the end they fight each other hinting he killed the woman, I remember like we don't even see the last fight. I watched the movie in the television and i don't even remember it was on a cinema. If anyone remembers, it'll be most appreciated.

Open [TOMT] [BOOK] short horror story compilation with koala like creature from an Iowa lake on the cover

Upvotes

I have vague memories of a book containing the following:

  • a koala looking creature with large teeth on the cover, gave off cryptid vibes but isn't a real cryptid (I checked all known Iowa cryptids online, nothing even close to this came up)
  • the creature lived near an Iowa lake, I can not remember which one (my grandma who owned the book lived in Clear Lake and Storm Lake Iowa for multiple years, but it could be a different lake)
  • the book contains multiple short horror story's. I can not remember any details from the other stories.

The covers art style is similar to Monsters of the Mind cards. I know that's an obscure reference, but it's as close to the style I can think of.

My parents and siblings don't remember this at all, and my grandma can't seem to find a book like this in her house, although she has vague memories as well, so I don't believe I'm making it up. Anyway, thank you in advance for your help!

Open [TOMT][MUSIC] Older song with a low flute that sounds Egyptian

Upvotes

Maybe 80s-90s? Could be a bit older, I’m pretty sure a woman sings it. It has a sort of dark/mysterious vibe with the low flute sounds.

Open. [TOMT]80/90's sounding song that is about humanity possibly being the only intelligent life in the universe

I heard the song on a radio station during a countdown and I was too busy to Shazam it. I believe it was written by a British band that I think started with "the" and i think it also might have been made in the modern day. I also know they talked about how in the music video there was a big telescope, the type you would see at places meant to study far away planets. I can't really remember any sort of melody besides that unfortunately. I know it's not much to go off of, but I appreciate any help finding this. Thanks.

EDIT: I remembered that the band made a cover of the song "some guys get all the luck" which was played just before.

Open [TOMT] 2010’s crime show

When i was 7ish (2011ish) i watched a crime show with my uncle that traumatized me for months. I believe it was a show like NCIS or CSI but it was just one woman working the case. It was a murder case about a girl who was found in the woods and they used a picture being taken off her apartment wall to solve the case. There was a flashback scene to show the picture missing. The only other thing i remember was a comercial for another crime show kept playing about finding a body in the concrete wall of a building. I’m so curious to know what this show is to see if it would still scare me now!

Open [TOMT][MOVIE][80S OR EARLIER]WW2 movie on television in the 80s

Looking for a war movie seen on television in Australia in the 80s, probably 70s or 80s where a Japanese officer beheads an allied soldier while in the jungle. Also remember the film ending while a lone solder walks away from the camera through a flattened field with jungle surrounding it. I think the camera raises up as if on a crane while this happens... I know its not much to go on, but i also remember it was a drama or action/drama...

Open [tomt] [song] woman singer lyrics are questions to ex

it’s a song sang by a woman. the vibe of the song is that she’s asking questions either to the ex or to the new partner of the ex. I want to say that it is to the ex.

Maybe the chorus starts with “tell me..”, the song i want to say is energetic, maybe a bit of country music flavor but still pop.

thanks

Open. [TOMT] Movie where several men are in a bath, drinking and smoking

I found this movie with a specific scene I remember. I found it last week but today nothing I search for comes even close!

The scene is from a movie where several men are in a large bath. They are seated, visible from the waist up. They are having cigars and drinks. They may also have been playing cards. I thought one of the actors was Antonio Banderas but searching for his name came up with nothing.

Please help, this is driving me nuts!

Open [TOMT] [MUSIC] [2000s - can be older] - Flute+guitar music

Greetings, community,

I am looking for a tune/music I use to casually hear on the radio when I was young, (2000s). I recently heard a part of it in public and wanted to know the name.

The music consists of a flute or a similar instrument lead, accompanied by some guitar.

I have made my best attemp to recreate the 'flute' melody using a VST. Here's a recording:

Would be greatful if you could assist me into finding this tune.

Thank you and best regards.

*edit: spelling

Open [TOMT] A story movie trailer from a DVD about 3 chosen children with a stained glass aesthetic

When I was young and had a DVD player I remember seeing the trailer of what looked like an animated kids movie. If I recall correctly this was a trailer in a Zathura or ANTZ DVD. The trailer had a distinct storybook/ Stained glass aesthetic and the plot was essentially that 3 stars became 3 chosen children that would change the world I remember one kid was a swordfighter and the other a mage? Does anyone know of anything familiar I've been trying to remember this for years?

Open [TOMT] [YouTube] [2010s] YouTube channel owned by a pair of asian/brown brothers who used to make comedy videos and skits, I believe one of them was diabetic

Upvotes

this suddenly popped into my mind and now i'm going crazy trying to see if anybody remembers this channel, i'd like to rewatch the videos for old time's sake. this must have been around 2010-2015 at most, they were a pair of brothers in their late teens/early twenties, they were asian/brown and i'm pretty sure their channel name included the word "brothers". they did a lot of comedy videos and skits together, i remember vaguely that one of them was filmes in a children's park. i think one of the very last videos i watched of them was about how one of them had some kind of chronic health issue (it was either type 1 diabetes, a heart problem or asthma, though i'm almost certain it was T1D) and was preparing to run a marathon. i wish i could remember more specific details like dates or names but this is all i got. they were popular around the same time as early =3, Ryan Higa and the like

Open [TOMT] Sitcom (USA) with either the title or theme song something like "Birds of a feather" or a play on that saying. (– NOT THE BRITISH TV-SHOW!! –)

I remember seeing a couple of episodes in German TV around 2003 till 2005 or so.
So I think they might have been broadcasted in the USA in the 90s. (As they usually come to Germany a few years after).

I think that this sitcom wasn't such a success, because I have never heard of it later.

All I remember was a couple and a couch and an apartment. 😂
I remember no other characters.

Best of luck. 😅

(And thank you in advance.)
