Gridfinity kitchen organiser restrospective
Background: - Bambu P1S 0.4mm nozzle 0.2mm layers - Sunlu PLA 2.0 - 3 bottom layers 3 top layers - 2 walls inside/outside - 5% gyro or cross hatch infill
What went well: - For most shapes, added 1mm clearance to the diameter or full length/width of actual measured dimensions seemed to work ok. - Added drain holes especially on the lowest point of each item. This works in conjunction with holes I added to the gridfinity baseplates. Time will tell if water will pool and get mouldy. - Uniform 6 height units made the bins look nicer.
What needs improvement: - 4 or 5 layers would cover up the see-through top layer. - Need to consider more loose fitting shapes. The cheese slicers for example, hugging the lines too close made it difficult to retrieve other than directly lifting on the Z axis. - Could angle the parts more, along the Y axis, to fit natural motion paths of how the hand lifts items. - Using Fusion 360 gridfinity tool to generate the bins resulted in a very tight fit between the units and the base. My own bin design according to the original spec somehow had looser tolerances. Need to investigate. Maybe consider outer/inter wall order.
Other thoughts: - Why ๐ - Good beginner practice. - Time will tell if I'm happy with this.
