I've owned Pixels a long time...but I love them most during election times in the usa. I haven't gotten really any calls about the election. It filtered them all. I also think I only got maybe 2 or 3 texts that made it through and I blocked them after they made it.

Its been really handy in avoiding these spam calls and texts. I have glady avoided many goons on both sides.

Do you agree with that? What makes the other vendors not so secure? The updates or their implementation of Android skins? May be both or may be there are other reasons?

After trying the Pixel 6, 6 pro, 7, 7 Pro, Fold, Pixel 8a, Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 Pro, I am still loving the 6a:

I'm disabled and recently have been falling due to low blood pressure. I try to remember to take my phone every time I get up but forgot the phone. This most recent fall I crushed one vertebrae and fractured another.

I tried yelling "Hey Google" but it wouldn't work. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for over 30 minutes and when it finally heard me it said “sure you need to unlock your phone first”. I was dejected.

I gathered up all the energy I could to crawl around my bed. Once there I was able to pull the comforter off my bed and the phone with it. Overall I was on the floor a good three hours before the emts arrived. Four emts and nine firemen showed up. They said it was a slow night.

So to make a long story short, why the $#^@ do I have to unlock my phone to dial 911? Is there a setting I am missing? It could’ve ended much worse.

Received my pixel 8 today from Flipkart but the phone isn't switching on... like screen is not waking.. called Flipkart they said 'we will sms you the brand customer care number via sms they will solve your problem' i still didn't received any sms and now i can't even call them as there's no option available for calling them.. what to do guyss anxiety is killing me

I just came back from a trip to japan. While there, I added an eSIM to my Pixel 8 Pro (bought in the UK) to be able to have data connectivity. My pixel shutter sound automatically activated (which I believe is expected) and couldn't be disabled with the message "Camera sounds cannot be turned off for your SIM or region".

I just came back to the UK and erased the eSIM from my phone but the message still shows. I am wondering if there is any "remnants" of that eSIM preventing me from turning off the shutter sounds. Did anyone encounter this issue in the past?

So I open my weather app from the app drawer. I do not have a widget on the home screen. With the new Pixel weather on my Pixel 9 when I open it, rather than go to my home city it goes to add a city and then I have to click my city to open it to display information. How do I make it open so it goes directly to my weather forecast rather than add a city? With the old Google Weather it opened just fine, but this new one does not.

I woke up at 1am to find my Google Pixel 5 spewing white hot sparks and acrid smoke into my bedroom. The smoke was so thick that I reckon if I'd hadn't woken when I did, the missus and I would probably be dead. Two kids in the house too. I managed to get everyone out the house and somehow got the flaming device out the back door.

It burned so hot as to char the wood of my bedside table, and melt spots in the carpet where sparks and debris landed. The room and house absolute stink of acrid, chemical smoke, and we all ended up sleeping on sofas and floors downstairs.

The response from Google has been rather luke warm. Their first response was: "too bad, phone is out of warranty", but they did eventually relent and have sent me a refurbished Pixel 5. No replacement charger or cable or anything. They also sent a specialist courier to collect the damaged phone, but I have no further communication, apology, or offer to cover any of the damage done.

It's left me and the family rather traumatised, as I didn't expect this of a branded Google phone - one that I bought direct from the Google Store, no-less.

Should I pursue this further?

Just found out that fitbit premium is included in my 2TB subscription.

I think Google could really add value with additional services like YouTube premium with family etc to push P9P sales.

Is a phone ringing non stop without ever reaching voicemail a sign that you may have been blocked by a google pixel? Or is this another error?

I woke up to my phone dead and out of battery despite being connected to my charger. Currently I have it "Charging" except the battery isn't going beyond any percent. It just shows an empty battery with a charging symbol on my screen and won't turn on. I have tried different cables, wall chargers, and cleaned the port. What else can I try?

I feel like this feature has become largely useless since the option to do a search for the found song has been dropped. It's all well and good having the YouTube and YouTube music options but I usually want to find out more information about the song not simply add it to a playlist. And now I have to switch to somewhere else to do a search.

My photos started occupying space since the 1st of February 2022.

I downloaded all 1 Feb 2022 photos on my PC, deleted them from Photos (and thus all devices), copied them to Pixel 1, re-uploaded them. They show up fine when going to that date by scrolling, but they don't all show up when searching for "February 2022", "1 February 2022" etc.

I tried reuploading a single pic from the 2nd of February 2022. Same issue. That one photo doesn't show up when searching for "February 2022", "2 February 2022".

Has anyone seen this issue? is it a matter of time until they get indexed or something?

Hello, does anyone know if activating Gemini nano on a Pixel 8a can affect the efficiency of Google Assistant call filtering? I am worried that by activating it and having to choose between one or the other, I will lose the call filtering function.

Finally the flipkart page for Google Pixel 9 Pro (non-XL) has been updated from being basically non-existent to showing that the pre-orders will start this week! Does anyone have any idea when they might start shipping it, will we have to wait till November as suggested by Google's account informing people in the comments?

A few days ago I upgraded from an iPhone 11 to a pixel 9. Overall, I love it, but I do have a few minor issues.

1) the phone is running quite hot even under general use. Is this a common issue, and is there anything I can do to reduce this?

2) one thing I miss from my phone is the screenshot system, I send a lot of screenshots to people, and on my iphone I could copy and delete the screenshot and then just paste it, which helps to save storage. Is this possible on the pixel?

3) another thing I miss is the wallet system on iPhones, being able to just tap when using my cards is definitely quicker, but when using loyalty cards etc it's a little slower, is there a way I can make a faster shortcut (like double tapping the power button), or is this something I'll just have to get used to?

So, I'm considering upgrading from my Galaxy S20+ to the Pixel 9. I'll be getting through Verizon for the hopes of trading in for it to be cheaper. How do those of you that have it, like it? Do y'all like the pictures it takes? Do y'all like how it handles game? For reference, I don't expect to play anything more than maybe minecraft, or one of the rip offs. I'm not worried about the size of the phone, or really the feel. I just want a phone that takes good pictures and has decent processors to boot.

My ADHD brain combined with a chaotic travel schedule over the last month made me miss the trade in window by 2 days. My fault, and not here to complain about the potential ramifications, but just curious if anyone else has done this and if the trade in value they eventually got was actually lower than the estimate at purchase.

The fine print says it MAY end up being lower based on current market value. My assumption is the market value doesn't = trade in value, but I'm hopeful because the current trade in value for my Pixel 7 Pro is still $540, what it was when I bought my Pixel 9 Pro.

Anyone else ever experienced this and have insights on what ended up happening?
